ASR exhaust valve controller

Yeah understand Mike, but do it properly yes ? not keep popping in and out of threads with suggestive comments about needing 5 people for this that and the other....
for retrofit off course new more people to cut cost

You're not filling me with confidence here. Just a quick check of your response would help so that it actually makes sense to people.

What are the costings for these, delivered to a UK address, with the VAT and fees removed?

You can’t even reply properly can you……

I’ll let you take over the group buy.

Good luck.

I can't speak for others, but it may be worth asking the people who have already put their name down on the group buy list what their preference is. I'm seriously considering putting my name down but would prefer to deal with the company directly through the discounted group buy. As we've seen before, mistakes with looms can and do happen and having a 3rd party in the way will complicate things massively. I've had that before where I've ordered something for someone and then became the person stuck in the middle of issues between buyer and seller.

Also, there's the issue with payment and passing on personal details, such as a full name and address for postage, to a member of ASN that I don't personally know. Fair play to Mastachaz for the offer of trying to save people some money, but I know what my preference would be.

That's exactly what I was getting at with my posts. I think that for the difference between Mastachaz's potential discounts and the group buy, I'd still go with the group buy. Not that we know what the cost would be with Mastachaz since after offering things he always goes quiet and doesn't give any details for anything. Another reason I wouldn't feel hugely comfortable sending him a chunk of my money.

Why not stick your name down on the group buy and that would get us one name closer to the required amount for a discount and we can go from there.

I will do mate when I can get confirmation that it's still active. The last post on there was @8YARWY saying speak to Mastachaz.

Come on guys, this is a group buy that lots of people should get behind. Especially seeing as the lack of sound is one of the main complaints about the car. With the lack of options currently available, why not save some money on this? I haven't even got my car but it's worth buying to get the savings :)

I think the main reason for negativity your way is because you don't actually do anything to help. You say that you can provide installation guides for things, then never share them with the group. You say that you can get ASR modules cheaper but then don't give any indication of price. Basically you say a lot of things but never follow through is my frustration.

wich installation guides you mean ? I do not remember if I promised anything to anyone other info i got I always share here and there( color vents for example) :), asr, I wrote that I can help to see if someone is interested then I can help them safe money , no point for me wasting my time checking price if no one wants it , so there was jokes from me i send to another country to avoid tax :)

I dont really care if anyone wants pay tax or not I simply offer my help ,In exchange i got jokes and story I keep quiet :) hehe im here everyday but anyway
im sure @8YARWY can help members with group buy

The vents are exactly what I was thinking of, since multiple people asked for it and you said you had it but never actually provided anything at all.

I've already asked twice, so won't bother asking a third time for the cost and will just stick with the actual group buy.

The groupbuy will be going ahead guys with no more input from Mastachaz

Out of curiosity, just because I'm impatient, for those that have previously ordered and received their units how long did they take to arrive?

Less time than the car.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'd have thought it would be a bit longer if there's a bunch of us ordering but as the car is now arriving next week I'm hoping it appears before then! :)

I’ve caved and ordered mine. Mate took me out in his T-roc R and that sounded louder than mine (ps launches really well too)

can’t be dealing with that!

Don’t suppose anyone could share the fitting guide with me? E valve haven’t sent me the instructions like their website states

PM me your mobile and I'll forward a video I've got on WhatsApp. Note I've not got my car yet so can't say for sure it works but it's pretty easy.

Thanks to everyone for all the info about the ASR kit. Ordering now, website seems a little clunky, but kudos to google auto-translate!

Hi new RS3 8Y owner who’s catching up on this thread. Is the conclusion to buy from ASR or Exvalve? Seems the majority have bought from ASR directly since they have made the product. Anyone used Exvalve for purchase?

Personal choice, there’s a saving to be made, however the ex valve is remote based system.
I like the ASR for what it offers.

Thanks. I presume the remote ASR product is correlated to the remote ExValve product.

What’s the difference with the other 2 ASR 8Y products? The normal flap one RX2 and the other one called CB2? It’s a difference of 15 euros so just want to ensure I’m getting the right one.

The CB2 uses ESC button / cruise control stalk / any time the car is put into S mode to open flaps.

Best feature, of CB2 not another remote to lose.

For sure, it’s basically OEM+ rather than having a remote.

It looks like everyone is just re-branding it as it’s own. I rather go to the source if Exvalve and Milltek are doing this! Having read most of the comments, I’m going to purchase the CB2 this weekend from ASR directly. Pretty darn excited tbh haha.

Now that my car is on the way from the factory, this is getting my attention... How hard is it for an Audi shop to install this? It seems like some folks are doing it by themselves here but I will be scared as hell to even start thinking about DIY on my RS3...

It's a VERY easy install, much easier on a RHD car as the LHD car needs a few more bits removing like the bonnet release

I will get a VAG specialist to do mine^ rather than Audi as imho you don't want to bring anything aftermarket to their attention.

^same reason very poor with the spanners.

I’ve rang a few in Manchester, UK - none of them either know what it is or won’t do it as it’s not a part from their website. DIY looks like the only option for me

It's genuinely very simple. If you have a strong grip so don't need any trim removal tools for pulling off the side panel by the door you could get away with needing nothing but a 10mm spanner tool-wise.

No chance of breaking tabs or something like that?

I guess there's always a slim chance when you're pulling piece of trim off but all the tabs looked pretty sturdy to me. If there are any companies around you that fit dash cams, they would be able to help if you're worried about doing the work yourself.

Please excuse my confusion. So for a RHD car like in the UK, is the install on the Driver’s side (right) or on the passenger’s side (left)? Thanks!

Left hand side of car

It’s always on the left side as you sit in it.

Wiring junction multi plugs are always on that side irrelevant of the drivers location.

Out of interest, will you guys deactivate or remove the unit when you take the car into Audi for a service? Fitted today. Wow, what a difference!
