Mate had a red XR2i.
It was amazing, such a giggle to drive.
Driving down the M5 to the coast, fan packed up, getting to hot even with the windows open so I decided to try and take the sun roof out at 70mph. lol

So has Fred so and that's worse than a ford

Yeah, way worse.

Classic fords, well any ford before the Mondeo and Focus has some form of decent history and styling that just seems to appeal.
For me any way.
Old french cars are erm.....well, just old and french. lol

I owned a rover, that's worse as well lol

Depends.
SD1?

I had a Renault 5 GT turbo which would have destroyed most of you RS boys. Then I had a Clio 182 which still holds my fastest Nurburgring lap time. I then had a 160bhp lotus Elise which was wicked but not really an every day car. Owned the S3 for nearly 5 years now! Longest car I've ever owned.

Insurance companies make me laugh.

Renewal on crappy Mazda - £347
Quote on oh so shiny, pretty & significantly better S3 - £460

Where do their numbers come from? Is there any logic to car insurance at all?

Tell me about it AA wanted £3000 but Adrian flux and sky wanted just over £450, go figure, needles to say I didn't go with the AA

One of the lads in the office did a comparison site search for insurance a while back - cheapest was £400, most expensive was £8,000. Just seems daft that there could be such a differential between premiums.

Some companies price themselves out of the market cause they don't want your business.

Different insurers specialise in different risks.

You just have to shop around for the insurer that will give you the best premium for your risk.

I renewed my insurance at the weekend and ended up with these guys, who I really didn't expect to beat my renewal with Greenlight and a quote from Sky, A Pan, Adrian Flux and the rest of the specialist modified insurers.
