are the w@nkers in power of this going down hill fast country think we are that stupid we dont notice petrol prices going up every month!?!
i mean do they think "well they still buy it so it must be affordable...lets put it up some more!"
what a bunch of t@ssers!!!
soon enough courier business for example will fail through to too high fuel costs and when the country goes into dissarray cause no f**ker can afford fuel that tw@t gordon brown will sit there and wonder why!
last time america put fuel prices up by a few cents a GALLON they went ape sh!t big time and they soon fell again!
we are firmly being held by the b@ll@cks by this over P.C. state, sorry island in the northen hemisphere, and there is really nothing we can do...AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!
but the thing that really ****** me off is the people of this country voted labour in i know where my vote is going when ever the spineless tw@t does do an election...
rant kinda over now count to ten...1...2...3:wtf::rtfm:

Yes mate they are taking the **** over fuel prices nearly 80% is tax and vat f--king ridiculous but come election time they will be out although I don't think the tories will cut fuel tax much if at all.But labour need to be punished for the current mess in this country somewhere in the northern hemisphere.

id much sooner give my fuel tax to some other fu*k wit than that pr!ck...
this may have been missed by me but we didnt go to vote on who became the next prime m(S)inister when brown **** came into play did we? were it blair?

All absolutely right. I'm disappointed the fuel protests in 2000 weren't repeated. It brought the country to its knees and I'm certain that if they'd have continued, the government would have backed down eventually, if only to gain popularity.

All you tabloid junkies seem to be forgetting that the price of fuel in real terms is in fact slightly lower today than it was in the 80's.
I don't want to get sucked into a political rant, but do get sick & tired of ignorant people blaming labour for absolutely everything that's wrong in the UK at the moment.
The UK was well and truly ****** over by Mrs Thatcher in the 80's, Labour were left with a burnt out shell of a country with an aging road network & non existant public transport system. Yes how quickly we forget that Mrs T sold it off to Joe Public after practically no investment in it and we've all been suffering ever since. She also halved the income tax for all the billionaires in the UK and believe me that's one hell of a lot of money that disappeared from the Treasury overnight, and drove the NHS into the ground. So while I don't agree with a lot of the current policies of this gov't please at least try to take into account the mess we were in 20 years ago when slagging it off. You can destroy something overnight but it takes a lot longer to build it back up again.

Hmmm er ****** to that.

Labour have had 10 years to sort this mess out, you all pay way more in Council Tax, Petrol Tax, Road Tax than you did a decade ago. So wheres all this money going then?

Ive been away for five years and the countrys a lot worse than it used to be, its dirtier than ever, its FULL of foreigners, and **** me everythings twice the price than when I left, kids are getting shot left right and centre and everyones smoking weed to de-stress themselves from working 60 hours a week to keep a roof over their heads!

Gordon Brown and Tony Blair screwed up big time, yeah they were right when they predicted that we would all get wealthier, but they didnt realise all this money was going to be tied up in our homes which they can only tax us once on this with Stamp Duty, now all their finances have a big black hole which they are scrambling to fill....do you remember when Gordon sold off millions of pounds worth of Gold and then the price went up? What a plonker.

And its us muggins that play by the rules and work for a living that are paying for it so the wasters and whinos that do actually vote Labour can keep up their lifestyles on incapacity benefit while driving their cheap Motability cars, walk past any Wetherspoons at 11am and its packed with these people. (they want shooting)

And another thing, they are more than happy to let our big companies be bought by Private Equity groups from abroad that are only in it for a fast buck and dont care about the company, but if one of our companies tries to buy something in say Germany they're government and unions soon put a stop to it and Labour does nothing because they dont want to rock the boat so they can drag us in under the Euro, ask any German or Dutch person if they would like their Guilders & DM's back tommorow and they would snatch them out your hand.

This country wont be sorted out until someone has the balls to do it, Labours full of old communists and socialists that just havent got a clue how to run a country pub nevermind a full size Country and the Conservatives wont get in until they get themselves a leader that doesnt look like a PR guy for House of Fraser.

What they should do is, send all the people that shouldnt be here back to where they came from, tow Scotland out into the middle of the atlantic and sink the ****** because they are a bunch of grumpy miserable ******** that love it when England loose at the football for no apparent reason, disperse everyone else to NZ, Canada and Australia and then nuke the place and then in a 1000 years we can start again.

Oh and one last thing, ANYONE that brings in a ban on christmas stuff being sold mid October gets my vote.

Ah, and dont even get me started on the olympics, whose clever idea was that?

IMHO /rant

I was totally with you till you tried to sink all us grumpy miserable ********. How dare you, how very dare you sir

I'm a tabloid junkie I read the times and the average tax and vat take on fuel by the government of the day was 60% today it is nearly 80% and rising.

Yep that's kind of the ill informed tabloid junky ******** I expected.
Incoherent whining based on nothing but ignorance & naiveity.
"Labour have had 10 years to sort this mess out, you all pay way more in Council Tax, Petrol Tax, Road Tax than you did a decade ago. So wheres all this money going then?"
Our houses have also doubled in value & I earn twice as much than I did a decade ago - what's your point exactly?
The gov'ts finances have a big black hole in them because Thatcher reduced income tax thresholds for millionaires from 90+% down to 40%. That's billions and billions of revenue wiped out. She ran all the countries resources into the ground with no investment then ****** off. 10 years of vandalism & abuse takes more than 10 years to put right - or is that too complicated for you?

Just as well Thatcher reduced income tax thresholds for millionaires from 90+% to 40% other wise the wealth generators of this country the private sector would be long gone. Then your beloved labour party would be in deep **** as they generate nothing but hot air like some people on this forum.

When the tories get in I am assuming you will not whine for 10 years because it will take more than 10 years for the next government to sort out labour's mess.

Agree with everything you said unkle apart from the above

We are all grumpy and miserable but thats only because we're attached to you lot below us :p

I hate the price of fuel, although i hate the fact that i can't afford a house at 23 even more despite earning reasonable enough money :-(

Well I disagree with you there on many points but forum arguments are ten a penny so I'll keep it short. I dont read tabloids, havent done since I was about 19/20. Ive travelled and lived in many different places.

My point is Labour thought that they were going to get a lot more money off Joe Public so went on a spending spree, throwing money at everything and instead of properly managing they just set targets and gave out blank cheques, example: Doctors, yeah we're short of a few, lets recruit and train thousands too many, result = we have too many now so a lot of them are going abroad taking thousands of pounds and hours in training.

I was only 20 when Labour came in so I cant really talk about increase of earnings. Chances are a lot more of it goes back to the Government though.

She reduced the tax rate on millionaires but now London is the financial capital of Europe, something that has produced thousands of jobs in both Banking and ancilliary sevices (IT, Facilities Management etc). If you tax specialists and highly qualified people to death they wont come here to work.

She got rid of a lot of unefficient state run companies and privatised a few which were success stories like BA, BT and British Gas. She got rid of the power of the Unions and gave a lot of people who would never be able to own a home the chance to buy their council houses (which was quite canny, you go on strike, dont get paid, cant pay the mortgage)

Blair did a few good things like Bosnia, Heating payments for OAP's, the minimum wage and Northern Ireland, but the flipside of that is Railtrack, Royal Mail, Immigration, Iraq, Afghanistan (we have gone from being a respected power in the Middle East to nothing, enjoy your next US speaking tour Tony!), Stealth Taxes, Taxes on Pensions, The Dome, London Underground, our EU rebate, turning our capital into Londonistan a haven for people wanted by other countries and more intergration with the EU.

Our Parents and Grandparents were conned, they signed up to the Single/Common Market but instead we fund inefficient French and Italian farmers to the tune of billions which should be spent on our hospitals and roads and our powers are being reduced by a Franco/German partnership that wants Europe to go the federal way.

TBH Im not a big fan of either but I consider Thatcher to be the lesser of two evils, we're all screwed anyway regardless of who we vote in.

Rants along a similar line have become a lot more common recently I notice! There are at least 4 different types of people in this country i'd say:

1. Those that care about the state of the UK & do ****** all but rant about it!
2. Those that care about the state of the UK & tell people in powere about it, eg write to their MP, petition & campaign for causes etc etc
3. Those that are here for a free ride, dont care about anyone else but themselves and only wear trainers because they can run to the front of the benefits queue quicker than if they wore normal shoes!
4. Foreigners!!

Ignoring the whole "who's at fault" arguement raging above its obvious to anyone that the country is in a bit of a state! There's way too many people in categories 3 & 4 from the above list ruining the country, and more people are in category 1 than ever but wont move to category 2.

This country dosent need arguements, it needs people to stand up for what they believe in and tell the people in government what they dont like! The Post Office may be getting on all our wicks with their strikes but it seems they are virtually the last bastions of people power. Remember the huge demonstrations & strikes in the 70's & 80's? Now thats people in category 2 doing what they do best, and getting some results from it. Petitions seem to spring up on the goverment websites for all kinds of causes, how about one calling for a general election? If that dosent work then we truely know we are the new age dictatorship where the government dosent listen to its people!

Me personally, i'd get us out of the EU quick! Yes they give us shed loads of money for this & that, but we also give them shed loads of money in return. On balance we profit but we could do better on our own. For one thing it wouldnt be compulsory that we have to let EU immigrants in. Its no wonder eastern european countries are queing up to join the EU, they can come to the UK for well paid jobs, houeses & health care & their government gets massive handouts too. Yes its a great thing helping other people in the world etc but if we cant help ourselves can we justify dishing out so much to others?
So, get us out of the EU, close borders to all immigrants for min 5yrs, instigate 60% income tax for £1m/yr+ earners, ban offshore companies/individuals from holding funds abroad (eg Mr Green, head of BHS etc etc pays dividends of several million per year to his wife who's a legal resident of Monte Carlo, and thus paying £0.00 tax on it!!). That should be good enough for starters!!

"She reduced the tax rate on millionaires but now London is the financial capital of Europe, something that has produced thousands of jobs in both Banking and ancilliary sevices (IT, Facilities Management etc)."

Yes and that's had a dramatic effect on my life NOT, apart from spiralling property prices in London driving everyone out.
Anyone remember 3.6m unemployed?
Poll tax anyone?
NHS Dental charges & eye tests
Tax benefits for people opting out of the NHS & state pensions?
What a great legacy.
Don't get me wrong I don't support either, but these mindless attacks on Labour do make me laugh.
No one ever really appreciates that the government is just the front end, the machine behind it i.e. the civil servants, never changes. They have all the power cause they're the ones that run with the policies & make everything unworkable. These are people who couldn't get a proper job in the commercial world and so have opted out for an easy job for life in the civil service.
Labour or Tory you're really only choosing what "skin" you want on an ageing unworkable operating system, a bit like Microsoft Windows, you can tart up the interface as much as you want and give it a fancy name but when the backend is still running on DOS you just know it'll reliably blue screen once a day and everyone will moan about it, but still use it.
I think the Germans run Linux - very efficient but not very fluffy
I'm sure some IT bods out there can come up with some more examples.

Yep, that's a typical response from IT, an answer providing absolutely no answer, just lots of reasons why something won't work

I'm never wrong either

sometimes i just bend the truth accidentally

Will people never learn? Arguing with Andy is futile, you shall never win.

******** to the lot of you, the simple answer is yes, petrol prices are taking the ****. robbing ******* government.

"are they taking the p!ss with petrol prices now or what!!!!"

yes, most definatly
