Having my rough idle issues I have a coolant temp signal high DTC code. If a fuel sensor had been sent instead of a true coolant sensor would this cause this or are the resistances identical
Are coolant sensors and fuel temp sensors the same?

I had an intermittent fault on my BKN 3.0 TDI recently with my fuel temperature sensor. I was sold a Coolant Temp Sensor and did a lot of checks to see if it was the same as had concerns like you. On the BKN/ASB/similar engines they are exactly the same sensor. I suspect this will be true for others as well but you can check your model on one of the parts sites to check for sure.

I got mine from euro, appear to be the same but I've went and ordered genuine ones from Audi and there was a £20 price difference between the two so here's hoping that I have had a broken one and replaced it with the wrong one
