This device turns the MOST optical bus output into a low level line ready for the input to car amps, apparently these can be used with or without the factory amp or set up as a Bose Amp in the VCD software. I can only seem to get from France (took me a while) http://www.bc-elec.com/fr/interface-sortie-audio-pour-audi-mmi-2g-19335 Unless anyone know of a UK supplier. The idea is to fit a 4x 75w Rms Kenwood amp from my last install and fit the Mac Audio components instead of all the factory fits, and disconnecting the mid speakers. Then eventually a Sub which will be fed from a separate amp from the line output in the kenwood
I can't answer your question, but Im keeping a close eye on this thread. Im going to start by upgrading the speakers, are the Mac's you mention above direct fit? DO you have a link?
Not 100% sure as yet as they all fitted in my old A6 C5. I have had them for a while 15 plus years I guess but love the speakers. They have been in a caverlier calibra and peogeut 309 and the Audi A6 so far. They are components separate woofer and tweeter both front and rear with their own cross overs.
On another forum someone who went all out on amping up his sound system used this Link:- http://www.caraudioexpress.co.uk/mobridge-pre-amps/ The one you've linked seems better value but would it be same quality for sound output? can't seem to suss who makes that unit or find reviews, perhaps contact seller and google for info relating to that one.
Yes at 600 that puts it out of my price range . I could take the kids away for 5 days with that money
I agree pricey ... I guess the guy who fitted that plus other bits must of gone about a £1k into his project ... It seems that MOST preamps are virtually non existent ...
I think VNSmedia make the unit, Link:- http://www.mbcaraudio.nl/multimedia-interfaces/6704-vns-media-aummi2outp.html and Link:- http://audiforum.us/threads/audio-output-4-ch-for-audi-3g-3g-plus-now-is-available.15868/ But can't seem to find it on VNS Media site ...
