    Hi All.
I’ve previously used Angelwax Desirable which was a decent wax. I’m after a new one to replace it. Any recommendations for one? Something good for Daytona.

Everyone will have their own favourite. Perhaps if you said what properties were most important to you e.g. ease of use, longevity etc that might help with suggestions.

I have become less convinced recently of the importance of the wax in the final detailed appearance as opposed to other factors.

For anyone with more time than me. it would be interesting to do a 50:50 on say roof or bonnet to see if there are significant differences between waxes in appearance

Nothing and l mean nothing beads like fusion wax
    Durable and has awesome gloss
UHD again beads very well for 6 weeks if applied properly and gloss levels are great.
Fusso Soft 99 for durability but gloss levels are not up there with the best
Every wax is not perfect even the most expensive ones
It's trial and error and expensive.... The most durable waxes are a pain to remove and to a certain extent the same applies to there application
UHD is a great all rounder and not that expensive in the scheme of things, that's what l would recommend

By 6-7 months do you mean beading? If so l have never ever come across a wax that has that capability never

Yeah beading it's lasts a long time but I forgot to say. It lasts longer for me because a tip I found online said when drying the car always use a good quick detail spray as the wax will last longer because it some how protects it

Based on my limited experience Bilt Hamber Finis. Good beading and was working 4 months before I topped it up.However like most people I use QD so often you are only seeing the effect of that rather than the wax itself

It won't last longer because of the quick detailer when its used as a drying aid or evenwwhen its used on a dry car quick detailers don't have much durability 2weeks on average
Waxes need topping up regularly ie 4 weeks or so with a wax
And before anyone mentions BSD that's not a quick detailer it's a spray sealant

What can I say it works for me. It's the machine stick dodo sell and I only have to wax twice a year and this dude said the quick detailer would protect it and make it last longer. The cheap wax i've used on the wife's vehicle and my niece's car using the same method lasted about 4-5 months on the wife's but my nieces car only about 3 months and I think because her's is old and a bit flat.

Well the lads on the dodo juice forum are getting about 6 months out of there supernatural wax. They explain that the wax is a very good quality wax with high durability. With good preb before you apply and then QD after each wash will prevent the wax wearing quickly. Even from the pot they say it will last ages on a car. Give it ago it will surprise you

Thanks for the recommendations guys. That fusso 99 is rubbish! I chucked mine in the bin. It didn’t last, greyed all my plastics that it touched and flakes off. It’s exactly like Mer Polish putting white flakes everywhere.

when i got my car, i opted against the robbery of gardx. I did myself, clayed the whole car, did the whole car with AG SRP, then AG EGP then over the top of that with maguires qwik wax after a wash, shine is excellent the problem i face now is gettign anything to stay on it when washing. but here's the result i was looking for . . . flies! i get zillions of them when i go fishing, (night travelling etc) and the dead little chits just drop off even after a few days baking
beading is excellent, gloss very good and maintenance excellent

And that's exactly where these things get subjective. It can depend on a lot of things, paint condition and body prep etc including your technique, i.e. how you applied. I love Fusso! The paint feels smooth as silk even a month after wash and Fusso coat. The beading is second to none and shines like a diamond (ok, I might be exaggeration tad bit here) but I'll let you decide after looking at the below pictures:

As soon as a wax stops beading then that's when it stops protecting .... As its been worn down by the weather conditions your firing on a quick detailer on top of a wax..... Now is firing on a quick detailer to paint that's not been waxed any different? Pray tell

Synthetic waxes last longer 3 months on average on well prepped paint but lack the high gloss wet look that only a paste wax gived that's high in carnauba
Detailing sprays won't double the life of a wax..... As they wear off within days of application
I applied fireball Fusion wax and its only lasted 6 weeks..... The car was machine polished for 8 hours the previous day then l applied the wax so the paint was in tip top condition. The same process was done on my Mrs car with UHD got 6 weeks and a detailing spray was used every wash , but you manage to get 7 months beading from a basic wax

I had trouble with Fusso, but I think that was me putting too much on a black car while probably being out in the sun. The easiest I've had would be either AG HD wax and if I was buying now I'd go with the new UHD version or the G3 stuff I had. That was a doddle, fairly and lasted okay. Sorry, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but I do have to agree with jassy saying the best I've had out of a wax is 4-6 weeks. Waxing is for those that love the finish and are prepared for the hard work and short lifetime it brings.

Well maybe one advantage I have is my wife has a big unit she runs her business from round the corner from where we live and that's where I clean it so it's all indoors and plus not having kids I have the time to clean it. 2-4 times a month I do my car.

I guess a lot of people can't do that

Nanolex Hybrid wax, so far for me is by far the best wax for both Durability and Gloss levels. It outshines and lasts longer than the so called "ceramic waxs" on the market.

I personally think they’re a gimmic and just a selling strategy.

Ceramic is hard, wax is soft, both repel each other. Mixing the two is pointless and you gain no Benifit over the likes of autoglym hd wax in terms of durability.
You put wax ontop of a ceramic coated car and wash it that wax washes straight off due to not being able to bond to the surface.

There's Gimmick in most new products to be honest and also a market for them
A good Sealant will outlast most waxes but won't beat a good wax on on gloss levels but besides a A hybrid Sealant is one step away from a ceramic coating to be honest it's probably a better option to have a hybrid Sealant rather than a basic ceramic coating for several reasons
