Can anyone recommend a Bluetooth ODB adapter for a 1999 A3 8L model? I have bought 2 now and they wont connect to my ECU.

The socket is fine as my USB one works without issues, both reading and writing to the ECU.

I know most on ebay are V1.0 clones but surely there must be some that work ?

Thanks.

wont work 99 models dont have canbus on the obd socket even though some of them do have internal can communications happening between the different control modules of the vehicle. and before you ask no there is no way to get a can connection patched to the obd port on M3.8 ecu's .

And that's why USB one works but the Blutooth ones don't? I just thought the wifi and bt ones would be wireless versions of the existing socket. don't really understand it to be honest.

Hang on though, I have issues with LED bulbs on my car, isn't that to do with CAN bus ?
