Yeah 38k. However I do like how they have given it a muscular stance. Nothing that Audi currently produce interests me at all. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Over stylised SUV's as bad as the French DS range.....but at least it comes with a set of Ceramic GHD 's coz the only **** sapien that would have one of these also has a Womb.....putting it politely .....
Absolutely!! What is it with Honda and some SUV styling. This is not attractive at all in my opinion. Cheap and tacky looking (bit like the A45 Mainly-Bling)
Test drove S3 SB today, white is boring as silver elements blend in with it. Strange spec in that Audi are supplying lots of launch cars with the following spec; matrix lights, 19” wheels, electric lumbar, red callipers & B&O - the latter being an £760 option on the configurator (which you can’t select) yet comfort pack is only £865 doh. Drive went well enough, the seats are much better looking & supportive than the previous 8V’s seats imho. Also the gear selector switch is odd, think I still prefer a stick. Not decided yet whether to change or stick with the TTS. Karl
Omg ... Audi have done the unthinkable & made white look drab on the S3. Usually white is a banker colour for Audi but that doesn’t look good as @jassyo06 says. So far, red has been the stand out colour or Daytona a ‘safe’ second. I’m really not liking that small basic dash screen though ... for a £40K+ S3 that is very poor.
Other than missing the flat bottom steering wheel, this looks so much better with the upgrade screen ....
not sure how Audi can improve on that underwhelming interior for the RS, a FBSW won't add anything. They'll need to replace all the plastics with leather and the piano blacks with carbon at the least, but they're not likely to do that, but I would be pleasantly surprised if they did.
I thought white was a bit northern 'Cheshire', there seem to be loads around up there. The solid white is not a great colour on any A/S/RS3 even with Black Pack. Mythos or Daytona just look much more classy IMHO. As for big screens especially Touch screen, Why? I really do not get it. The extreme as seen in Tesla just look ridiculous. With Virtual Cockpit you can have a bigger screen if required and having a further one in the middle just seems bonkers. I was happy with the 8V VC and standard screen and also the slightly larger central one in my B9RS4. Anything bigger becomes a distraction.
White definitely needs the contrasting black, but don’t think I’ll ever buy a white car for personal use, I’ve had too many company cars (commercial vans etc) that are white, that’s all they are to me, work cars.
lol - it’s funny what you get used to though, I’ve spent so much time looking at the new A3 interior, that when I get into m6 Mk7.5 Golf, it starts to look wrong.
That circular steering wheel is massive compared to the flat bottomed wheel its actually too large for a car the size of the A3 no doubt its origin began in a SUV
What makes you think the 8y RS3 deserves a superior trimmed interior when its never been the case in previous models unless your classing Alcantara as a upgrade over leather and pvc .....the only carbon trim available on the 8y is a small inlay on the passenger side below the air vents even then it'll no doubt be faux carbon
My point is, it looks sh!t, and that's what they'd need to do to improve it. But audi aren't going to do that. As I said, smh.
Because that standard screen looks poor imo. Think about when there were 2 sat nav options with the 8v, the larger screen was so much better & higher quality. The dash surround does not grow with the upgrade screen on the 8y, you just get more screen instead of border .... looks way better.
I remember the earlier SD Card Nav in 8V hence I went tech pack. The later SD in 8V actually filled the screen and had greater clarity. Even the smaller screen now is larger than either 8v option. I still detest touchscreen.
Agreed hence Audi think theyre giving you higher spec standard ....when theyre not...they are actually giving you the VC from the new A1
Im not a fan of touch screen either, but that’s just due to finger prints ... but it’s the way most companies are going. Even our kitchen oven, hob & extractor are fully touch screen now lol !
In a car on the move though it's not great, bouncing around on sports suspension whilst trying to press a "button" on the screen! TX. Sent from my BBB100-2 using Tapatalk
To be honest l think you'd need to get into the habit of sorting out most of the basic drivers systems required by yourself before you set off...the minor adjustments can be altered via the steering wheel or voice controls, 8y has the same climate control systems as the A4 has which are excellent so not a big deal....to be honest
“Some” , as you know still offer buttons/wheels in addition to touch screen. Never used my touch screen on my M40i once
Dont think l am a prospective buyer of the 8y anymore....just doesnt give me the Whaoo factor no matter what options and exclusive colour l could throw at it,so l have made an inquiry for a quote for another Audi.......so will take it from there
I think it’s still got ‘potential’ once the full fat options come along .... you thinking about that TTS again ?
That’s where I am with the Merc. Voice commands are surprisingly accurate & easy & occasionally I use the screen to change tracks on the media but otherwise use hard buttons for switching volume / cruise / drive modes etc.
A chuckle as l type Lol yes a TTS Vorsprung not many cars in my price bracket if any have given me that want want factor....plus my wee mum and Avril.......gave me the Thee Man from Delmonte approval so just pondering on paint and leather stitching/trim options, like l said a few months ago l am in good place with my pcp/valuation
I think you’d love a TTS. I had a mark 2 TTS which was superb and the mark 3 moved the game on massively. They are quite rare things too. Just look fab from any angle and they feel very premium. TTS will handle like it’s on rails & go like a train too
