yeah talk on the golf r forum is that the mk 8 golf r will have this engine as a couple of the other R models are confirmed as having it. I can’t see it personally. Something to do with Audi refusing to let VW use the 5 cylinder RS engine so VW giving Audi the two fingers by producing a slightly more powerful Golf R.
Bad news for me is I have been struggling to decide all week and just had an email that the deal I got has just been pulled. I have had a similar quote on an M135i.
I dont want to sound rude but in what way are you telling me something I don't already know?
I fully understand the difference between PS and BHP and its very common confusion by motoring journalists, which is a bug bear of mine.
You are preaching to the wrong person my friend.

Clarifying for the many who don't, I just remember my B9 RS4 is 450/444 to illustrate the difference...it seems you have gone to the very dark side too with an M-B
My son has a new 70 plate 135iM the M-performance body kit and alloys fitted......it's a hathback lovers wet dream of a car.....but it has the standard alcantara/cloth seats which is far superior visually to the baby crocodile like Dakota leather coverings
Could say the same about myself....let you off very lightly by buying Minis and Beemers....lol its not what one posts its the style in which one post.........Argee bargee.....still has'nt got over Brexit......remember.... and Ron....regrets jumpin in te an A class....lol
Talking about jizzing......I mean jazzing lol
Was talking to salesman who was selling my S3 and he said ...in the nicest terms lol. He was really interested in buying it himself but he said it lacked something special(his words). Which held him back. What he meant was it needed all the extras.
Goes to show a better spec'd car is going to sell waaay quicker than a boggo standard one like my old S3.

What’s going on with dash in photos 6 and 12, faulty display?
edit: never mind, must be some sort of delivery tape as it’s on the dash of the Saving Salvage video as well.
Interesting comment on that video that the wheel pattern points one way on one side and the other way on the other. I’d never really thought about that before, just assumed they’d be mirror images of each other but makes sense to only produce one wheel.
I am aware that everyone's circumstances are different but ask yourself the question . 'Who is profiting from the PCP/Lease Purchase deal.
There are deals to be had signing up for PCP from which you can withdraw within 14 days keeping the offers. There are loans available for less than Audi charge M&S/JLFS/Halifax.. Some even offer PCP style. It is easy and some would say lazy to just sign up for a PCP Lease deal but as I enjoy a. negotiating and b. finance I take a DIY approach and so far have benefited. DIY approach is clearly not without risk but if sensible can save you literally thousands. I know circumstances are different but I got over £6k discount off a new S3 in May 2018 and lost less than £4k in 2 years.
You can't upgrade the dash on the Standard S3 - The plus option is standard on an Edition 1 normal A3, so why not on the S3 - Vorsprung model will have the Plus I'm sure
I don't mind the aluminium on the windows but not sure the lower sill bar and part of the air vents at the front needed it really, but a lot of cars are going like this now
Not a fan of the the Diamond Seats -but you have to specifically request them - No charge but the standard seats are plain nappa leather like the 8v - Not the Super Sports Seats that were an option on the 8V

Really !? ... that is crazy
So you can only get the upgraded screen / bigger alloy wheels etc on the Vorsprung model S3 - when that eventually gets released.

You can get bigger wheels now although only 2 options - but not the bigger screen - Matrix Headlights also standard on the A3 Edition 1 but not the S3 - £430 upgrade which isn't bad but again should be standard in my opinion
Rumoured a 2 litre Petrol 190 BHP to come out at some point so if you get that in an Edition 1 you will end up with more spec than the S3 other than the 310 engine - Crazy really

I didn't realise that - I'm staggered you can have a higher spec S-Line than the S3 currently.
Why on earth are Audi holding back on releasing the edition 1 for the S3 ?

The actual s-line has been slightly downgraded to allow for the Edition 1 - All the market shots of the yellow new S3 are an Edition 1 version which is available in Germany, not sure whether it will come here as the Vorsprung version is likely to be available this month for the A3 and maybe end of October for the S3
The best place to look rather than the configurator is Audi.co.uk and then go for the option explore models and you can see the differences but the Edition 1 has a lot on it over the S-Line and the S3 to be honest - The Virtual Dash and Infotainment Screen being smaller on the S3 was a big surprise to me although isn't that small when you actually see one as I sat in an s-line sportback and it was fine - Can't comment on the Virtual dash as I've never specced one in my cars always been a bit old school and liked the analogue dials, but again that's the future now
It's certainly different
Think it starts just shy of 40k? Hopefully they won't have the 'SEAT LIGHTING' logo in the headlamps like they do on the Cupra Ateca. lol
