I went and had a look at the new 4 series the other day, it is actually no where near as bad looking in the metal as in the photos. I actually think in the right colour, with black trim and the right wheels I could actually go for an M440i if a deal was there.
If that is the case I would be unsubscribing from his channel and wouldn't be watching any more of his content, if I can't be sure of his integrity and impartiality then he doesn't have a place reviewing for me. I know he is a total BMW fanboy, in particular M cars so I expect him to be raving about BMW all the time, but if he is delivering a review that has been pre written for him by Audi for an Audi model that is on a new level.
Possibly some further details on what will be standard on the Vorsprung S3, Audi were talking about it being released in October but thats now gone lol https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/audi/.../94135/s3-tfsi-quattro-vorsprung-5dr-s-tronic
Sure did lol spoken with Joe a few times during lockdown ....he's an ok guy Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
Was on drivethedeal.co.uk.....so not only do you have Technik, Sport,S-Line,Edition 1....we have a Vorsprung model.......in 35 TDI guise....only options available really was another 19" alloy choice ye know the "Y" RS6 matte grey type at £250....hopefully the S3 Vorsprung will have additional leather trim/stitching choices A 35 TDI Vorsprung with metallic, alloy upgrade, space saver, storage pack is £41k discount is £4,6o8 = £36,266
Price is a bit nuts pal, paying supertax on a 150ps diesel. Anyway hope you are right about the S3 models getting the red stitching etc.
Bigger discount off the A3 35 TDI Vorsprung than you do off the tiny.....Nintendo Gameboy sized virtual cockpit S3 mate....lol
That’s a lot of mon Would you still have to pay the increased tax as price pre discount is over £40k?
thats correct you would still pay the extra - the fact that delivery, number plates plus vat is included which is about £700 helps tip it over Slightly unfair on the second owner if within 5 years as he’s not getting the delivery etc but still has to pay the extra
A model that won't be popular no use to fleet owners its in very niche sector Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
Sure is, it wouldn’t be so bad if it was say a 200 bhp model with a tad more performance. Car prices really have gone bonkers but I guess they play on the pcp market more and more.
I just could not get beyond that standard VC screen size, spending all that money on an S3, it would be a must for me to have the upgrade VC ... & the upgrade alloys too - 2 elements that just make the car complete imo.
I believe it's £7750 according to a Audi UK you tube video. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=RDCMUCyFFjOypSKO83N9TEIxwuqw&feature=share&playnext=1
I believe that is correct, heard on a few reviews that mag ride is only available on the Vorsprung models
Couldn't write it with Audi. Magride standard on last 8VFL Saloons because they had the 19' alloys... now it's only available on Vorsprung models...wtf.
Personally I think mag ride is over rated anyway. Had it on 2 cars and in both cases it was very firm overall. My wife got a 2016 S line TT with 19" alloys the same time I got an RS3 and the RS had 19's & mag ride. The TT with regular suspension was waaaay better IMO albeit I accept it was a lighter car. Much more supple and set up was spot on. So Audi can set up perfect suspensions without the need to charge you large amounts for mag ride.
By all accounts the passive suspension on the new A3 is more comfortable, whether S-Line or standard. So perhaps MagRide isn’t as essential with 19” wheels as it was before?
I have the adaptive dampers on my TCR, and you can definitely feel the difference between settings. My wife has absolutely no interest in cars, and would only comment on aspects of any car if they really stand out. So when she complains when the suspension is in sport mode vs comfort I know there is definitely a significant difference.
Yep Agree Adaptive dampers on my Cupra. My wife was so use to the ride on my S3 with magride that after a rather spirited drive 90 plus miles she felt car sick.. It was the second day of ownership and I had it in comfort all the way The trip back was done in Cupra mode and all was well
Is “magride” still “magride” in the new 8Y models? I thought they had changed the tech so some new nifty hydraulic setup with this model.
But how would standard suspension be if it was set up correctly ... that is where I am coming from. Yes I could tell the difference between settings of the mag ride - hard / harder & hardest lol On the TT S line the suspension set up was superb and covered all options - it was comfortable but stiff enough to soak up corners at high speeds.
I haven't driven a standard set up A3 enough to give an answer on that. I'm sure there are aftermarket suspension setups that would work quite well but if you are buying new you would expect it to be good from the factory but unfortunately they never seem to get it right. If further down the line more options are available on the configurator I would have 'Adaptive Dampers' high on my wish list. They really do work well.
Impressive considering the BM has higher torque and more gears and is lighter. Only small issue with the Audi is the weight, but heyho, still very good engine and box in the Audi.
Collection and first week review of a new S3 from Saving Salvage on YouTube. He particularly likes the slick gear change and improved interior.
Just came across this video of an S3 Sportback in black. I have no idea what these guys are saying but think this looks really nice. I like the look of black cars but they are a nightmare to keep clean, but could be tempted by this. There is a shot on the freeway around 4.40 which looks good from the side/behind
