    Hi all,

Recently swapped my perfectly fine Phillips 4500K for a pair of 6000K HIDs from eBay and surprise surprise their s**t. Randomly go off and come back on, its a pain because i have to remove full bumper and headlight units just to change!!! Does anyone know of any decent ones in the 6000K colour?

    Cheers lads

I've got some 5k d1s iirc for sale.

6k is not good due to higher the number the less visibility.

not a brilliant pic but they are way brighter and whiter than the oem ones that were on the car, I hate driving in the dark with rubbish headlamps, way better now.

Also replaced the side lights/DRL to LED items to match the 6500k HID's

Yours may not even be 6500 mate, but its known the higher the rating the less the light output, the best fir vision & closest to natural light are 4300 max 5000, but if you're happy then thats all that matters.

I'm colour blind anyway so if it is blue I cant see it...lol , but whatever it is , its way better than the OEM ones I took out which were very yellow even for my eyes...

Just found this info , but to be honest I think the difference in lumens per watt that the eye can notice varies from person to person and under differing conditions.
My old HID bulbs were the OEM Philips xenstarts were:
    • Lumen: 3200 Lumens +/- 10%
    • Colour temperature: 4300K OEM Standard
    • Socket: PK32d-2, D1S
    • Wattage: 35 W
    • Voltage: 85 V
    • Direct Replacement, Plug and Play
    • E-Marked, Road Legal
    • Average liftetime: 2500 hours
    • E1 04J DOT.

My morimotos are: 6500k and if you look at the lm they are the same at 3200lm but cool white, so same output as the factory items then.

Changed to these when I did the HID's so they all match upfront.

They never got back to me so I went and bought some MTEC HID's, were about £48 for a pair, look great and had no issues yet mate.
