hi there,

My intake manifold is on it's way out, sticking plastic internals and unfortunately I've been told it only comes as a complete unit from Audi. Is there anyone who's breaking and s4 b6 or has a spare for sale ?

Part number is 079133185ab

Kind regards

Duncan

Or if anyone knows a source for internal parts, I've heard a rumour someone in Germany supplies them separately

You
Perfect spot on !!! Thanks[/QUO

You're welcome, pity you have to import that kit. I had a look again today and found this post but the pictures are no longer hosted

From what I gather if the actuator works it's just a case of stripping and cleaning the parts, is this something you've already tried?

Found this as well, http://forums.quattroworld.com/a8/msgs/44689.phtml

Yes had it all out and cleaned but apparently it's a seal at the front which has perished, to be honest the air fuel mixture is fine an the intake as a whole is operating fine, the annoying thing is the flapping rattle on cold start, but after a few seconds goes away.

Rang a local Audi today and the whole unit is £1795 plus vat.

I did notice that if I'm looking at that sort of money for piece of mind then I might as well buy the ported and modified one from JHM which works out cheaper £1000!

The search continues

Hi guys,

Just to let you know what I'm doing about this and if anyone else has a loud "flapping" sounds coming from the intake manifold on startup.

I've bought a second hand manifold of eBay for £100 pounds which looks to be a bargain ( wait and see what its condition is when it arrives ) with this secondary unit I'm going to pull apart and carry out this mod which I've found on replacing the internal flap with a carbon fibre one

I'll let you know how I get on

So....... do you have it sorted yet?

Mines in having the dreaded chain service at the moment and they're cleaning and sorting my inlet runner at the same time. Was stuck solid when he looked over it regarding the chain issue so along with the cam adjusters going bad that would explain why it had lost its low down power. Also got a new clutch and flywheel going in along with new aux belt, tensioner etc and the rest of the service items such as plugs etc. Hopefully picking it up friday will be nice to have it running again after 9 weeks off the road.
