Hello everyone,
I don't contribute much in terms of posts due to little knowlege on most issues, but I have the Audi-Sport.net sticker on the car, so I contribute on-the-run ...
Except for now as my car is sitting dead at a garage waiting for repair...
Symptoms:
Driving down a residential area, doing about 30, the glow plug light goes on, within seconds the engine power halves, so I start to steer towards the curb, and it dies... after that, it won't start... turned the key several times, it goes through the motions but it seems like no fuel is getting anywhere... so I get it towed to my local garage.
Diagnosis:
At first it was suspected that debris from the tree that I park under has clogged all sorts of vents around the engine and may have flooded parts like the ECU. Possibly break in a connector or blown fuse...
I got a call just now saying it has been narrowed down to injectors fault. Apparently is common to the 2006 models (?). It may be one, it may be more that need to be replaced, hours of work...
Cost:
Parts + 3 hours work + vat = £963 that I just don't have... and that's if ONE injector is causing it (£477 + VAT per injector!)
I've had no problems for over 2 years now and was dreading the cambelt change (I'm on 56k atm). I change oil every 10k as well.
Completely out of the blue and I am devastated...
I don't know whether I am looking for sympathy, or just wanting to highlight this to people, or for a miraculous monthy pay scheme for this, I am lost...
Has anyone else had this specific engine problem??
