Anybody know what this piece of plastic (trim?) is for?

So I had my front bumper off today to spray behind the RS4 grill as there were a few stone chips and when I was putting it back together this was sitting in the tray under the front bumper. It's nothing that I would have disturbed. Also most looks like a cover for a filter or something?

I thought there wasn't anything, but on closer inspection I have found 8K0 821 119

Phone up a dealership parts dept, give them the part number & theyll be able to tell you exactly what & where its from.

Never did get anywhere with this!

Mate at Audi said it is a 'reinforcement for the arch liner' but having had the nearside front liner undone all the way back to the suspension strut yesterday I am still none the wiser! Didn't seem to fit obviously anywhere!!
