Hi All, strange request. Does anyone know where you top up the hydraulic fluid on the 8P a£ cabriolet? The pump is located in the boot on the left had side behind an inspection hatch. It has a min/max on the top but for the life of me (and my mechanic friend) i cannot see how you top up the fluid? The A5 pump has a removable screw on the plastic reservoir which allows top up via a syringe.

Is there not a nut/screw on the top towards the back of the body of the unit as opposed to being on the reservoir itself?

I believe you also need to measure the fluid min/max with the top down.

This is the pump, the brass screw is the manual close, i cant see any other way to top it up? Thanks so much for trying to help, seems crazy, might just need to take it to audi £££££££

I believe it's that brass screw.

You're right that is the manual close but, all you're doing is loosening that screw to relieve the pressure so that roof can be closed manually.

To refill you undo that screw fully which has a hole which fills the reservoir. You're going to kick yourself ;)

tried to undo that screw and its not for coming off, it unscrews to release pressure but then stops. i worry it would leak fluid if it did, normally there is a screw above somewhere. with the roof down its waaay below the minimum but i cannot find for the life of me how to top it up? on the a4 and 5 motors they are mounted horizontally and have a brass screw above the level ..

What does the odd torx screw do? Is it possible you have to unbolt the whole unit rotate it and with the reservoir at the bottom unscrew/take it off and top it up? Remember on an escort convertable misses had was something like that

Have you got the unit off? You'll need it off to refill it otherwise like you say the fluid will leak. You'll need a syringe as well. I was sure its the brass screw but, with the unit off you'll get an idea if there is a top up screw/bolt on the back of the unit. I was sure it was the brass screw but, could be wrong if its not coming off. Is there a bolt on the back of the unit that you can't see with it mounted? It might be that one if there is one!

Hi guys, I really need someones help. I have a 2010 8P cabrio. Fixed one broken wire in the boot for top stowed switch. Now the top unlatches but will not move any further. If I manually open the roof. It will close as normal, once closed it will unlatch it will not open again. No faults on VAG. I checked my fluid level and its at minimum with the top up. Is this ok?

Thanks in advance.

Did we ever find out how to top it up?

Every other car, including A4s, have a screw on the plastic tank where you can top up the fluid. I can't work out where to top up on the A3.

Looks like you have to remove the pump to top up the fluid.

Cheers. I've topped the fluid up and it's low again. So I have a leak.
