ok guys im after some advice here. Ive booked car in next week to have the cv joint done as its clicking while turning.
I have been told if its outer joint its £130 plus vat
But if its inner joint then its a new drive shaft as well and im looking at £400!!! For a genuine part from vw.
I dont mind paying the £130 but does this seem right or should i find another garage?
    Thanks in advance guys.

Why don’t you get an aftermarket driveshaft? Lots cheaper. Depends on how many miles are left in the car. Sounds right for a genuine part though.

i bought inner and outer CV's from EuroCarParts IIRC. they were genuine GKN ones exactly the same as the original parts and were around £50 each.

So you can buy inner cv without the drive shaft because he’s saying the inner one means the full drive shaft needs replacing?
