My guess it's purely job creation. Trying to drum up business with no real authorization on giving discounts(on S3's). With the lack of people coming into showrooms they need to look busy. If you were 100% wanting to do a deal on an S3 I reckon you will get at least 8% knocked off and probably more if it's a new build.?
Never ever be the first to buy a brand new model of any kind if you value your hard earned and l wouldnt buy the basic S3 saloon as l prefer the car thats parked in my drive But a £6k is fooking awesome Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
I continue to do it.....just cant seem to help myself. I shudder to think how much I have lost in depreciation on my last 6 cars, but adding up the full retail prices it comes to over £180k. This one might be my last for a while though...
Managed to have a look round a saloon today. ****** lovely inside compared to the m135 I tested yesterday. just going to wait for a deal on an S3 I think. The 135 just wasn’t special enough
Think yer going to have to wait at least until dealerships start filling up their compounds with them....The more stock they have higher the discount mate best l could get ATM is this and its a fully loaded car barr the DAP Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
Cheers. I thought with factory orders I would need to get one ordered soon for March delivery but I established today I have a few more weeks to play with yet. I did like the look of the saloon today
l have no interest in the standard S3 which is available to order/buy just now mate....Why.... Have a current car with the 12-3 inch VC. Alloy wheel choices are poor Seat upholstery is very limited lnterior trim options are null Exterior addenda option non existent Further options TBC Thats my personal opinion though having a 67 plate Saloon just now....
I thought it should be a bit more being the outgoing model, £3k contribution so only a £3k discount . Anyway it didn't have SS seats and that would be a deal breaker for me.
That standard VC looks awful mate ... that would be a deal breaker for me. Upgraded VC and those better alloys are what I would be waiting for 100%.
is mono pur available as an option ? as this does not look great .... I assume that is the boggo standard look and some form of extended leather-ette will be offered .... hopefully
Stealing my pic is not great lol Just kidding But in the flesh it’s worse than not great In fact it’s very poor, awful ,the kind of hard plastics you would find in a base model fiat panda Not a 25k a3 sline Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah sorry mate ... it was a good pic though. It’s highly likely I’ll get another S3/RS3 at some point so I really hope they will offer extended leather / mono pur ... as that looks $hi7 !
Wish we had feel technology on the phone then you could get a sense of how hard the plastic was and bland Defo needed some kind of soft furnishings on there to break it up a little Yuk it was Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Seems the Brexiteer Boris supporters haven’t woken up yet mate! The U.K. will lose the ability to buy cheap German cards with tariffs and a hugely devaluation (30%) of the £.
I wish you would stop editing your posts to add things after I have already read them. Have you only just noticed that under my username? Its been there ever since I first joined back in June 2018. To answer your question...Audi drivers(along with BMW) have a popular stereotype.
That looks fooking dreadfully cheap and a tad nasty....extended leather is a must Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk
Or they could go a step further and put alcantara instead of pleather Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Audi like other manufacturers are reducing the number of individual options available for a number of reasons. 1. Reduction in sales due to collapse of U.K. £ , possible Brexiteer import taxes. Global pandemic fear for the economy etc. 2. Selling options in packs 3. More models to protect residuals for now (maybe) 4. No roof bar options as yet and probably never with panoramic roof ( rules an 8Y out for me ) No extended leather mono pur. No rear armrest option. hopefully 8Y won’t follow Q3 Vorsprung and have naff ‘alcantatty’ everywhere, just look at the post from @A3simon above.
Yes I would be very happy with that again. I had 'real' leather arm rests in my S5 with a good cushion of padding .. which was very comfy on my arms lol But visually, the 8v mono pur looked great so something along those lines will hopefully appear for the 8y.
That microfiber looks so out place with the... plastic door card lining as does the red stitching with the Kyalami green paint
Rear bench has a 40/20/40 split.....Reduction in individual options started long before Brexit....and this stupid flu......it's known as dieselgate WLTP regs.....Less cars to test by adding option packs
Indeed no roof bar options but they do have in Germany and like you have said you cant have both roof rails and pan roof, its either one or the other
There was a much fuller list of options pre Brexit Advisory Referendum in 2016. We bought 8V's in 2011/2014/2015 and 2016 and looking back loads of options no longer available. I accept the WLTP issue but many 'options' are not issues that require re-testing, like reversible boot liner and Mono Pur.
All our 8V's bar one had Roof Bars with Pano Roof. A great couple of options for our circumstances (House in France) when occasional large objects need transporting on roof bars and Pano Roof needed too!
My best was 25% off list and another £6k from Audi Finance on an in stock A7 BE in 2013 . Ran for 9 months and a fair few miles for negligible loss.
Buying a in stock car is ok if you dont have a specific list of options to adhere to,done it once wont do it again...Car jumpers are more likely to buy off the peg cars than most others...and l am talking about premium models not the Renault/Citroen...etc etc buyers
Not really much of an issue these days when everything is in packs or you could just get an in stock Vorsprung model and you have everything you want and more
