Woke up this morning to the alarm going off.

Came downstairs, no indicators flashing, no led's in the doors lit, just sound, car was almost dead, very faint clock etc apart from the alarm siren. Car wouldn't start, saw the faint symbol of car battery on the dash.

Alarm stopped by itself. Jump started the car with no issues.

I've tried the alarm siren test where you lock the car with window down and wave your arm inside and the alarm did go off.

My thought is I left the interior light on last night, does the alarm sound when your battery is almost dead to warm you?

Can't remember hearing any beeps recently but to be honest I don't remember.

Don't have vagcom to scan for codes.

Any ideas? Thanks

I don't think this is the battery in your alarm, the alarm will sound if there is a voltage drop noticed on the car....so if you did leave the light on and it had an impact on your battery, then yes the alarm will sound.

I'm getting 3 beeps from the boot this morning when ignition was on, guessing it's the alarm siren after all

Its not a difficult fix just follow the step in the TT thread, hardest bit it getting the siren out. Well worth it though
