I've got a 57 plate A3 and just wonder if the red LED in the middle of the dash (just under windscreen in the little red housings) is supposed to flash all the time the car is locked?
I locked the car the other night and it starting flashing and was still flashing a few hours later, I've never noticed it before. Does it just mean the alarm is armed and thats normal behaviour (and I'm no where near as observant as i thought i was) or is there a fault somewhere?
I had a quick look in the book as it says "If the LED lights for 30seconds after locking you have a fault - take to garage etc..". Well mine just flashes, and a lot longer than 30secs
The hazards still flash correctly and the doors lock fine.
Is my car just flashing up to everyone saying 'the alarm is screwed'?
