hi
Looking for a little help
My car went for a mot a few weeks ago
On starting the car to go I found the aircon would not turn on
I got diagnostics done at mot and they said it was a dodgy pressure switch
They ordered one up and I was to go back to get it fitted
When I left the garage after the mot I turned aircon on and off a few times and the light stayed on and aircon worked
I checked fault codes with Carista and cleared code
The code has not come back for two weeks
Today I went to the garage and said it was working ok and I should maybe get switch done just incase
Well later they phoned me and said the condenser was cracked and it needed a new one
I then went round to look and found they have sheared of part of the condenser while trying to get sensor out
Mechanic said it was like that when I took it in
******** I say
They say only Audi do the condenser at the price of £680 plus vat plus fitting plus new pressure sensor plus regas etc etc
I checked with Audi and it's £245 for condenser and at Euro car parts it's only £87
Question is - are they having my pants down
I can't prove they broke it or it was it that badly corroded it was ready to fall off as soon as they touched it , as they said happened
Should I walk away and get another garage to fix it

I know the sensor is a problem on the audis for not working
But I haven't read about anyone that sheared theirs off when changing it
I'm not to happy at the moment but looks like I'll just have to bite the bullet and get it sorted
