hi,
just got my new a3 1.8t,
earlier today when accelerating resonably hard and going over a bit of rubbish bumpy road surface the airbag light on the dash popped on, and now wont go out.....

has this happend to anyone? do you think that a conection has been loosened somewhere?
is this a dealer diagnostic job, or is there anything i can check.
(i have already fiddle with the air bag on/off lock in the glove box to no avail)

thanks
sam

Sounds like you may have shaken the life out of a sensor.
A Vagcom diagnosis will probably confirm this.

Vag-Com will tell you which airbag has triggered the light. common thing though is the plugs under the seat, just have a look and see if one has come adrift. it can only be reset with Vag-Com or an equivelent diagnostic tool though. whereabouts are you? you may have someone nearby who can help you

ok thanks.
is it only dealers/VAG specialists with the vag-com thing, or do willm y local bigish gargae be able to reset it do you rekon (have to call em tomoro afer i have a butcher under the seat, i have been mucking with the seat position a lot too-trying to get it right init!)

-im in swansea btw.
