Anybody fitted a K&N or pipercross air filter to a 2.0 fsi ?

From previous experience on other cars they were good for keeping the revs up when coming off the throttle (which could be quite useful as fsi is quite slow from low revs).

Has anyone fitted one & noticed a substantial difference ? Also does it affect the noise too much ? Don't want to sound like a souped up nova with people thinking I'm trying to chav my car up, just want it a little bit throatier under hard acceleration.

You won't notice much difference to be honest but for the price of the panel filter, you may as well!

I have an a ITG panel filter in my S3 and had a green filter in my TDI

Is the ITG filter oiled? I couldnt see one of those listed for an S3.....

I had an oiled K/N on my VR6 years ago and had problems after a while because the oil sucked in and coated a airflow sensor or something...cant remember exactly but i would go for a dry one.

K&N Drop in filter, you will notice a slight change in performance and a slight change in noise but no way OTT.

normal ones are about £20 so around £35-£40 is well worth spending considering you dont have to ever change it again.

Where can you get ITG ones for the S3? Are Pipercross ones oiled?
