Air filter replacement

I know this might sound like a stupid question but I have just bought a K&N high flow air filter. When I took the old filter out there was a piece of cloth attached to the bottle but the new air filter hasn’t got this, is this normal or do I take this if the old filter and put it on the new one

The k&n filter doesn’t have the foam.
Just fit the new filter as it is the foam stays on the original filter and not needed on replacement ones
