Ok, so I have an AGU swapped MK2 Golf and I've been facing a lot of trouble with my swap, namely deleting the SAI, Charcoal Canister & PCV, so I was advised by Tuffty to post here.
My AGU is fully built with forged rods & pistons, K03S (going K300 in the future) so changing the powerplant is out of question. I'm looking to get rid of as many lines out of the bay as possible, so much so that I'm willing to fabricate a new aluminium TIP to reroute the Recirc valve & vacuum lines to the point where they're nicely hidden out of sight. I don't have a problem with the level of work involved as I've already made a carbon fibre air box and machined a 45° billet aluminium MAF Sensor housing. But, in doing so, I know I should probably convert to a wideband ECU, this will give more tuning capabilities, so that if my dimensions are slightly off, the tuner can alter map and adjust it to suit. It also has the added benefit of being able to run a digital speedo/tach cluster through OBD2 as well as a Wideband AFR gauge. Obviously, standalone is another option, but that's too expensive, I still have thousands to spend elsewhere on the car and I'd like to be able to drive the car within the next year.
So really, there are a couple of parts to this.
1.) What can I remove from an AGU that's running an ME7.5 converted Loom? (I know the deletes can vary between engine codes)
2.) Will I still need to run a MAF & MAP sensor with ME7.5 (i.e can it be bypassed with a tune)
3.) Since my MK2 loom has been altered with an AGU conversion in mind, does that mean I'll also have to send the ME7.5 engine Loom to go get altered as well?
4.) What is the best loom to go for in my situation, I was going to go for BAM from an Audi TT because they're easy to source, but Tuffty has informed me that BAM ECUs don't like custom MAF housings as the scaling would be way off, but my custom MAF is pretty crucial to the layout of my engine bay and piping setup.
