Advise needed with my Q7 limp mode !

Hi All, First time on here, recently picked up a Audi Q7 2007 110,000 3.0tdi for £5995. Bargain in my eyes. I know the maintenance and bills are going to be high. But driving it back from the private seller somewhere on the M25, cruising at 60mph suddenly glow plug light flashes and speed drops to 40mph and wont go any faster. Managed to pull over and restart seemed ok for a while then bang it did it again! Been driving it around town after this not over 50 and not one problem at all. Took to a local garage with the following error codes - P3348 Exhaust-gas turbocharger control unit 1 actuation - Electrical fault in circuit and P0401 Exhaust-gas-recirculation - low flat rate? Safe to say my mechanic was very sympathetic before following with a quote for a £1750 new turbo!

Anyone had any experience of this? how to fix it? or solutions?

Have you read the ross tech site for those codes? They do give suggestions.

Since both codes relate tp the egr valve id be getting that whipped off and cleaned before even considering replacing anything. Plenty of how tos about mate
