Good afternoon everyone, I can normally be found lurking in the A4 forums, however I'm after some advice regarding a friend's A3 1.6 diesel she's having loads of issues with it. The main one now being the DPF light and restricted performance. It's the yellow light, so far.
We have replaced the pre cat sensor, as this showed up on the diag machine, but no joy as a couple of weeks later dpf light on again and restricted performance. We tried to do a forced regen but it wouldn't let us.
So it's been in a trusted garage for 3 days, where they've cleaned the DPF, even though according to the cleaning guys "it wasn't that bad" but they still can't get the light/performance issues sorted. They now think it's a temp and pressure sensor issue that either needs Audi or an Auto electrician, to dig deeper.
Any advice you guys can offer will be gladly received and passed on. The car is located in Salford, so any Audi specialists around there would be useful to know also.

I know someone having the same issue. Had sensors replaced, all to no avail. DPF has been regenerated , only 1 gram of soot so that’s not an issue . Mechanic has said he can’t figure it out as the car still drives brilliantly.

End result…… get the DPF deleted and have anything DPF related mapped out . Problem solved . Cost my friend £500.

I have same issue ... If car gets close to 100k (mine 95k) It will need open engine and clean everything pistons and its shafts, there is plenty carbon bulid up...
Had DPF cleande EGR and when I select dynamic the engine management light lits up and VCDS syas diesel particulate sensor intermitent. It always only comes up if I suddenlty step on it.. put food down .. But even if I drive faster like 100mph or over it will not trigger management light but it will appear on VCDS.. weird.. BUt I don't loose power tho..

You should at least try replacing the DPF pressure sensor. Its cheap, easy to do, and a common fault. But as mentioned above sometimes its not that either.

Did she get this sorted in the end? I'm having the same problem with my 1.6 it's doing my nut in. Cheers.
