Help.......

What to do..

Keep my car and finish it off

Get an a4 b5 1.8t and swap bits over then tune it up

Get a mk3 golf vr6 (fallen in love with the sound)

Get a 1.8T mate.

you know it makes sense!!!!!

Thing swaying me away from a 1.8t is that i've had an a4 for 2 years and i kinda fancy a 6 cylinder car....

They are getting quite old now the Mk3 VR6's would be hard to find a good example.

They are not very tuneable and nowadays 174bhp from a 2.8 V6 is not very good!!

I used to own one.

What was it like? I know there not that quick i just like the idea of all that grunt. Also one of the best sounding cars ever.

Mate, i'd get a Corrado VR6 over the Golf.

And it's a 2.9.

Or a Vento for that sleeper look.

Get whatever you can afford. Or be greedy and buy the lot!

Don't get me wrong it was a good car but drank the fuel!

It was good when I had it but that was around 1996 and they are getting on a bit now, loads on e-bay fairly cheap and would consider one as a weekend project car but they all have mega miles on!

I would go for an A4 1.8t!

BUT I do love the VR6...there are always nice ones to perv at when going no-rice!

Corrado g60 is a possibility.....

Going to no rice this month marmite?

Everyone seems to be saying 1.8t, might have to find someone at no rice to take me for a spin......

Can't make it buddy this month, but fingers crossed going to get there for April

There were some lovely cars there when I went up there last

You going Herts Meet?

Working and preparing my car for no rice, bit of a trek for me too

Should see you no-rice 11/4 then buddy

WOW we have mentioned No-rice with out any abuse this time

2nd option, buy mine and swap bits over! You seemed interested a while ago, mine is ready to sell in about a week and is fully sorted now i've done all the niggling bits to it.
VR6's aren't that quick and very good handling, a good mate had one and was always letting me drive it. Sounded the nuts with a K&N, but was horrendous on fuel and drove like a barge, brakes were crap too.
He was gutted when I caned him in my E30 325i too! LOL rolling start and top speed.

I went from MRC tuned (190ish) VR6 Passat to 1.8T A4 quattro 180 - A4 feels a little quicker, infinately more traction, much better handling, build quality in another league.

BUT, there is no music!

I miss the VR6 sound soooooooooo much.

Decided to keep mine and finish it off. Still love driving mine and love the looks it gets.

I will cash in my premium bonds and get something amazing in a few years. A5 maybe....

Ditto! As did I and Olly K...

IMO a B5 1.8t with remap only keep up with a well maintained late OBDII vr there wouldnt be very much in it, and will never compete on sound

Late ones tend to have more power than the 174 that is quoted

However mk3s feel like bangers to drive compared to even a high mileage a4

Id say MK2 VR !!!!
