Hi everybody.

I'm set on buying an A4 but I'm unsure as to where to buy it from. I was in the audi dealers looking at their approved used cars but when I compared the prices of equivalent cars on autotrader there was a difference of £1000's between the two.

There appears to be a lot of benefits to buying from the audi dealer but are these worth the additional cost?

Any advice or comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Depends what your budget is really, maybe look for some at other garages not just the dealers.

My budget is around £16,000 - £17,000 but that may go up slightly depending on how much more I can save.

If you don't mind me asking where did you buy your car and what was your experience of it?

No chance of buying it from Springfield? lol jokes aside....

I bought mine from Taunton Audi, was a 5 hour journey door to door taking the train. Found them to be very friendly but I guess anyone would be if you was to buy a car from them.
I think Audi offers a 1 year warranty on top of their used cars?

Same as buying from a dealer or a garage, do the HPI checks, MOT milage checks ect and just make sure you are happy with what you are about to buy.

My car was an amazing offer and I couldn't find anything close to it. I had put a £1000 deposit down just to secure if before even viewing it lol although they did say it was a refundable deposit, I had already made up my mind before viewing it.

Doesn't matter where you buy it from. If the car is less than 3yrs/60K miles then the warranty is valid. Main thing is to know the history of the car.

EDIT: just to add, the dealer will contribute up to £750 for repairs on the first MOT should you need it.

Yeah I think they give 1 yr used car warranty, for peace of mind.

....and also a 30 day money back guarantee for piece of mind, as they call it. Not too sure how much trouble it will be to actually get your money back though.

Thanks for the responses. I hadn't thought about the HPI and MOT checks. My current car (the first one I've owned) was bought from my brother in law so we didn't bother performing any of those. I'll have to go away and read up further on what I should be keeping an eye out for.

I got my car from a local Audi specialist and found them very useful I had a couple of niggly little bits to start with nothing major just squeaking rear brake and washer bottle sensor which they replaced with no hassle, they weren't over priced by any means even compared with auto trader as I know they shift so many cars they keep there profit margins quite small, well smaller than a dealers anyway. They stock lots of cars, I didn't even bother to look around I woke up one morning and decided to buy a new car and 3 hours later drove one home lol but that's me I'm an impulse buyer haha
