Adrian Flux just quoted me £120 to add a Remap to my policy?

Does this sound a bit high to anyone? I'm only going stage one, not going to be going for huge power. Was already quite unimpressed by them when my renewal was £50 higher than I paid last year, then sky quoted me £600 but rather than swapping I was stupid enough to take a price match from AF. Should have left on principle I guess.
Never remapped a car before so not too sure on how much extra it should cost on insurance but can't help feeling a 20% price hike when I'm already a quarter of the way from the year seems a bit steep.

Sounds about right to be fair, if you increase performance by aprox 30% there's usually between a 10-30% increase in cost for insurance regardless of being with a company that specialises in modified car insurance.

As with all adjustments midway through insurance, there's a standard admin fee, usually £25, so the remap is +95, not a lot really. It would be about the same if you was insured with anyone else to be fair. In my opinion.

As I said, never experienced a Remap before so didn't know what price to expect, didn't expect it to go on % of power increase tbh but thanks for the info anyways, feel a bit less ripped off now (although car insurance is still a general rip off)

I've never had a brilliant quote from Brentacre. Their policy is very flexible granted, unlimited mods to engine, so long as engine capacity is the same, and like for like replacement, they do know their **** basically, but buying insurance ultimately, is a beat the quote game these days.

They used to insure me on the slayer, £611 fully comp with ANY modification as long as the power was below 250bhp and weight stayed above 1100kgs.

I was quoted the same undeclared from Adrian flux.

No brainer if you actually mod your car.

Will have to check them out when my renewal is due, I'm paying £600 with my coilovers, tip and s2k filter declared at the moment, £720 when I get the map
