Even though the dealership washed it, it still wasn't clean. Glass is a massive bug bear of mine, and driving it home in the dark with a semi smeary screen was driving me insane!

The weather looked decent from inside, but when outside it was FREEZING!! Not only cold, but a bitter wind blowing up the street.

Swirls on the pillar would probably dictate that the rest of the car was the same. Years of using the £5 car wash it looked like.

Wheels got a blast straight off with Bilt Hamber Auto Wheels. This stuff is new to me but after seeing what it does it will be my new favorite wheel cleaner

Unfortunately it doesn't deal with tar build up. Will break out the Tardis when the weather improves a bit.

Auto Finesse Iron Out on the paint was not as spectacular as I 'd hoped, but was still doing its thing

Snow foamed with Bilt Hamber Auto foam (a reasonably strong mix), followed by a 2 bucket wash.

Rinse down, then hit it with some Fireball Hydrophobic Snow Foam for some temporary protection.

Dressed the tyres in Auto Glym instant tyre dressing. This is a big car, and subsequently took an age to get anything done on it in the temperatures today. Bring on Spring thats what I say!!

Nice car. Biased of course. Give the windows a deep clean with Bar Keepers friend to get rid of all the cr*p. Are you going to machine polish?

I will do as much as I can with the products I have, but a machine polisher isn't one of them. It could do with a few passes and I'm sure I would get great satisfaction doing it myself, but I think I'll put a few quid aside as and when I get it to get a pro to do it. I wish I had done that with my previous car, and just maintained it regularly. The wheels aren't horrendous, well none of it is really, but up close and in the sun it really shows and the wheels almost have brown patches where the tar is stuck to the sides of the rotor arms.

Been looking at a mild correction, or enhancement detail with someone fairly local that I follow on Instagram, as their work is quite simply outstanding, but need to factor in some long term protection too really. The whole package could be in excess of £1k not including caliper painting or wheel refurb (though the dealer did knock off £200 towards refurbing those MASSIVE rotors).

I'll maybe try a wheels off decon with the AS Tardis I have see how that goes. Need some milder weather and more daylight hours - it is a BIG car!
