A6 staring problem

Just changed the clutch in my 1.8t w reg put everything back together the way it was all wires are are on go to turn the key the dash lights up the fuel pump primes the engine but the starter is dead no click battery is fully charged but the car starts wit a bump can any one help please

Did you forget the wire to the starter on reassembly?

The starter was never taken out it was left in during the clutch change

One of the bell housing bolts has a metal bracket that holds the starter cable in place, I'd check that, also cheek engine to chassis earth straps.

I’ll give that a try the starter is getting taken out to have it tested

Could be a problem with that cable, battery to starter, it has been moved and now starter doesn't work, co-incidence maybe.

Hay folks I’ve checked all the wires from and to the starter there is life going to the starter could it be the ignition switch
