Hi all. I have a A6 1.9 TDI 2003. With regards to fuel consumption and engine temperature Can anyone tell me if the computer gets information from the sensor in the hose at the bottom of the radiator and from the sensor at the back of the engine. My fuel consumption was really bad and temperature gauge was not working. I have changed the sensor at the back of the engine and the thermostat. The temperature gauge now works but fuel consumption has not come back. Any help would be great. Thank you. Ian

What sort of mpg are you getting?
When I got mine I had to swap both coolant sensors and the thermostat before I fixed the running temperature issues. And it took a while for the mpg to improve again. Even now I only get 38-42 in daily use and never seen the 50+ that some people report with this engine.

Hi James. Thank you for your reply. It is doing 32 MPG at the moment. I have ordered the sensor in the hose at the bottom of the radiator. So far i have replaced the sensor at the back of the engine and the thermostat. It was always doing around 40 MPG. So similar to yours. Lets hope when i get the other sensor the MPG creeps back up. Does yours take a long time to warm up anyway? Thanks again. Ian
