A6 Climate control unit -- help needed please !

I need some advice please!
Just got a 03 A6 1.9tdi and the buttons on the a/c unit is quite badley worn. Looks like he had sandpaper for fingures.

I have seen this on ebay

Looks just like mine, with heated seats etc, same buttons.
I spoke to Audi who, based on my chassi number told me to replacement the unit i should be using 4B0 820 043AR5. i have seen a post in 2006 says that AR5 is colour code.

Would the one from ebay fit and work in mine.
Your advice is greatly appreciated before i possiably waste my hard erned money.

Don't know if anyone helped you out (New to forum) Just had same experience as you when my part arrived it was a different part number to the one in my car, solution is to remove unit from car and unscrew facia from behind (about ten tiny phillips) then unsrew printed circuit board from facia (About same amount of screws) do same on replacement unit and just swap them over. You end up with original controls but with nice new front panel. Buttons missing was very common thing when I was looking for my A6.

Hi Mark. Is the your Audi have double din unit or single? Which stereo are fitted in concert1 or symphony-II?
