A6, A4, A8 suspension recall???

Hi all - in a chance conversation with an Audi/VW independent parts retailer today I was told that A4, 6, and 8 (plus Passats and Octavias) were being or had been recalled for check/upgrades to the front multi-link suspension fittings. Anyone know anything about this one way or the other please?

FRANKFURT -- Volkswagen AG said on Wednesday it was recalling 870,000 vehicles worldwide due to problems with their front axle, the firm's third major recall this year.

The vehicles affected are Passat models built between 1996 and 1999, Audi A4 and A8s from 1994 to 1999 and Audi A6s built between 1997 and 1999, VW said in a statement.

The axle's rubber boots can get damaged, which can "lead to premature wear and in isolated cases to the failure of the bearing arm, mainly on high-mileage vehicles," it said.

hi, dose this mean my A6 TDi 1998 can go in for a check up(free) regards this problem. and if so how do i go about it
