Had 2006 car since new and and at point of sending it to crusher but tragedy as tickover problem aside everything is as new. No 6 misfires on tickover but fine as soon as higher revs. Garage exhausted mechanical - new plugs, coil packs (swapped new to try to migrate problem). Timing chains and compression test and piston leak test all good. Second garage suggesting ECU or engine bay wiring fault. Any suggestions?

Have they temporarily fitted new wiring to that cylinder, that should have been on the list tbh.

Thanks. V logical. No, they didn’t. First garage was outside its comfort zone on wiring, second booked up for weeks and said an engine bay loom would be 2-3k and not worth it. I’m in Hampshire, do you know anybody who would attempt that (I’d have a go - maintain a TR4 and Riley RMB, but no idea where to start on modern cars).

I would if you want, done allot of wiring on cars.

WhatsApp me to discuss 07974994143.
