A6 3.0tdi rattle on warm startup

A quick search shows that this might be a problem with the timing chain tensioners, but this seemed to be for older cars, no reports on anything like a 2013 model, so I want to check if people think these symptoms match...

Car: a6 c7 sline avant, 3.0tdi Multitronic, 2013/62, 67k miles.

When engine is started up, say, 20-40mins after previously being properly warmed through and then left, I hear a nasty rattling sound. It lasts for about 2 seconds and then subsides.

Is this a case of needing tensioners replacing and how much am I looking at with a specialist?
How come Audi haven't rectified this when it seems cars were exhibiting this 4 or 5 years ago with this engine!

A friend has a Porsche Cayenne with similar engine, vintage and mileage, no such issues!

When was the oil last changed? . Never a fan of 20K mile plus service intervals on diesels, if the oil hasn't been changed recently I would get it done. There was a post on here recently for a 3.0 BI-TDI that had the timing chains replaced around 100k.

Could be the starter motor.

Oil changed ~8k ago. It's been doing it now and then for about 20k miles at a guess. My father in law should have reported it to Audi at last service when still in warranty, but he's so busy and forgot, plus thought he was trading it in at that point, so not a priority!
