A6 2008 Power Tailgate clicking

Since picking up my A6 this week, the power tailgate clicks 3 or 4 times upon opening, it opens and closes as it should, just the clicking doesn’t sound right. Does anyone else’s do this? Is it normal? Or if this isn’t right how do I fix it?

Send a pm to B5Nut, he retrofitted a power tailgate to his car and he may be able to answer your question.
I can't help as mine doesn't have that option.

Sorry no idea, never had anything like that when I installed power tailgate to my A6.

 

So yours doesn’t click like that?
I’ll contact Audi to get a price on a replacement catch

No it did not. I still have parts from the retrofit left for sale, including the power latch & both motors.

 

Are they on the for sale site on here?

 

@Bibbym I noticed you have a power tailgate, can you have a look at my video and original post on this thread. Does yours make the clicking sound on unlocking and opening of the boot?

I see your video and ive never experienced that noise.

Ive never had a problem until this last couple of days. I think mine is just the switch has given up.

The tailgate has now stopped clicking and works as it should

How did you fix it, or did it fix itself?

 

It fixed itself, probably because it hadn’t been used very much as it had just been sat at the dealer for a while it had gone a bit sticky or something
