A6 (1999) drivers door mirror cover?

Well...it is half-term down 'ere in Cornwall so the roads are full of folk that would be dangerous on a 6 lane super highway. Needless to say, in passing one of these clowns on a road that two combine harvesters could normally pass, some twonk in a jap super mini decided that to avoid touching the first 3 feet of his side of the kerb, it would be better to wipe out "Gerty's" door mirror.....Rant over so 3 questions;
Anyone got a spare mirror or cover?
How easy are they to change (I am doing this one myself - at 182,000 miles it is hard to justify paying someone to do it!)
Finally, can anyone recommend a decent after-market replacement?
It has been a while since I was on here...Sad to say that the Alfa bug has got me again (a cocaine habit or owning race-horses is cheaper)but Gerty is still my everyday car.

if its just the mirror cap (the body colour painted bit) then yes, very easy to replace.

- remove the mirror glass
- remove the bottom cover (two screws i think)
- unclip the cap and lift off the mirror

all in, 10 min job to replace.
