A5 Lead Times?

Wooooo! After picking the S3 up from its yearly service, popped upstairs to see the sales team and got an update on my S5! Its on a boat currently passing Sierra Leone (Marine Traffic tracker) and due to berth in Sydney 5th January! So much for the dealers late Feb delivery ETA!
Only downside is I wont be able to collect it until 1st February now as I will be travelling for work in January...still, it'll make coming home that bit more special!

Mines still on expecting to begin construction on the 3rd December 2018! Really annoying that it still hasn't changed at all and no one can tell me what is happening

Strange to think it's on a ship sitting still for so long! When did it board the ship?

Hope they are going to do this for you lol :D

It left the port of Bremerhaven 26th November and arrives in Port Kembla (Sydney) on 5th January. Pretty normal sailing time. I have some of our product on the same boat from our Germany plant and get to go on the boat when she docks to see my car - put a call in to my WWL contact :D

That entrance is the best!

I have been a good boy and Father Christmas has said I can pick my A5 Sportsback on the 22nd. Relived this is coming to an end rather then jumping up and down to be getting my new car.

I certainly wouldn't be ordering one now as it'll be outdated could be about one years time...
 
so confirmed pick up Saturday at last, straight into detailing for machine polish and sealed. Then my enjoyment can begin. Will post pics when get it back
 
Order tracker is down...

I got an email today from Audi UK confirming my suspicion that my order still hasn't been allocated a built slot. This is ridiculous for a car ordered back in July!
 
I suggest you read the a4 delay due to wltp thread. Unfortunately not just audi are affected by delays either.
We had to wait over eight months for new fiesta because of quality issues with the leather. Some who have ordered the new focus have found their cars being held at the dealership for a safety recall and are unable to collect them.
Frustrating it is but it happens and can be very annoying...

Dont understand - mine was ordered at end of Sep and is in the UK now - must be an option that is unavailable or an emgime that hasnt gone through emmissions testing. Mine is a 2.0 tfsi sport s-tronic sportback with tech pack

Mines a 2.0 tfsi 190ps s line s-tronic Sportback with tech pack and privacy glass in brilliant black... Not much difference.
 
Nothing obvious - suggest you mention to your dealer that others are getting theirs quicker than you - mine was ordered by Sheffield Audi
 
Now that the tracker is working again I can see my car is in Quality Control now :thumbs up:

So it won’t be Saturday anymore will now be Christmas Eve. It better have a red bow
 
So I finally got a build date after I ordered back in July...

May 2019.

Looks like I'll be cancelling my order unless they can bring the build date much earlier in a couple of weeks! Pathetic customer service from Audi.

That is terrible and would definitely complain. Mine ordered at the end of September is not at the local Audi dealers and will hopefully pick up this weekend

Cheers for the info, I'll let them know when they come back to me regarding any updates after the holidays; I refuse to wait nearly a year for my order to be fulfilled.

Congrats! Post some pics tomorrow if you can. Mine has left the factory now but I think I still need to wait for the 45 TFSI to pass the testing.

WTF 10 month from ordering to a build date??? I ordered the A5 coupe in August last year and it was delivered in the October last year, factory build with my options, so not a stock car. I'd be on the phone to Audi UK.

What is your current car, is it on a PCP? I'd love to know how that would work if you are!

Yeah it's ridiculous right?

My current car is a ford focus st, I'll be using it as part exchange as long as there's still positive equity in it.

Since my last post, the Audi order page has been updated to a build date of February 4th, much better. It'll still have been 4 months for a build date though!

That was my thinking, who's to say they aren't going to try and sting you when you take the ST in for the PX? Unless they guarantee you a price because of the wait, why should you potentially be out of pocket.

I see you are from Bolton, closer the time try 'Fords Of Winsford' (they have a place in Manchester as well) for a quote for your ST, they gave me £1,000 more for my VX Mokka when I first moved over to Audi's. I also sold the S3 to a sports car specialist for about £1,500 more than Audi were offering!!!

I had a 350z before becoming a father, unfortunately the other car is a 118i !

EDIT* Just thought of another, get an instant quote with just the reg and miles Arnold Clark a couple of guys on here have used them and said they don't knock you down on price if the car is as you say it is!w
 
Just had my car weirdly go back to QC from being at the port on the tracker.
 
Finally had some good news regarding my A5 order!

My car will be built in early February and should be with me by mid March.
