a5 3.0tdi Quattro sline stop-start

My past 2 cars, both manual Audis have both had stop - start which cut the engine when stopped at traffic lights etc.

Have noticed that my 2011 A5 3.0TDi S-Line S-Tronic does not have stop-start, not that I am bothered as I always switched it off in my previous cars.

Was it an option on the 2011 A5 3.0tdi quattros with s-Tronic gearboxes ?

Pretty sure it was on a 60plate S-Line Special Ed. 2.0TFSI I test drove a while back. I seem to remember the tax being slightly cheaper. Perhaps there were differences between the trim levels and engines?

Stop/start was initially only on the smaller engine cars. The 3 litre engine cars didn't get it until the facelift.

Thank you for clarifying.......not that I ever used the function on my old Audi 2010 A4 2.0Tdi Quattro or 118d BMW before that........
