Hi , I've been looking at a 2005 a4 Tdi 1.9 I've all ready got a 53reg a4 Tdi 1.9 ,what's the 2005 1.9 like being a 5 speed?, I've heard the 2005 shape 1.9 is better than the 2.0 , what's acceleration like and what would the bhp be , my 53 reg is 130, can't fault it but wanting a car a bit newer, thanks !

same as your 130 the 5 speed works very well ive had 3-4 6spd boxes and get bored of changing gear because 1st is useless....but the 5 spd works well and give some nice feeling of power in 3rd 4th 5th but i would highly recommend a remap as it changes the car so much better

Isn't the 2005 1.9 115bhp?

Stick with the 1.9 - far better off IMHO

Could you even get a B6 2.0 TDi?

Then why is this in the b6 section unless tapatalk is lying to me ;)

Because I'm on Tapatalk too so can't move the thread.

Watch out for the b7 2.0l tdi 140 oil pump/ balancer shaft issues if you do decide to get one, have a look at the b7 section, you should see it at the top.

get the 1.9 and remap it. i wouldnt even entertain thinking about a 2.0.

+1

My uncle has the 2.0TDi 170bhp and he's had nothing but trouble with it. The 1.9 will remap to around 140bhp too

I have owned two 1.9tdi's before my 2.0tdi, both remapped 1- (51plate @ 80k) 155bhp. 2- (54plate @ 64k) 170bhp, IMHO both bulletproof, the 1.9 is by far the best diesel engine Audi have produced.

Mac

only other thing id say is try to steer clear of 1.9's that have been on longlife servicing.

the cam lobes have a tendency of wearing thru the tops of the tappets.

your doing well then. seen them wear thru on mk4 golfs @ under 100k. and more recently a mk5 but that had nearly 150k on it.
