Hi All,

My A4 Avant needs oil change, air/pollen/fuel filter change and gear box oil change.

Called a couple of Audi garages and they are all quoting me £700+ for these.

So I was thinking, if there is a cheaper Indi Specialist (who is good obviously), I would consider it.

Only thing is that car is 2 years old so I have Audi Warranty for another year.

Thoughts please? or if you know a good garage in the east of England (or even London area), let me know please.

Cheers,
Dom

Why not get a good Indy garage to quote you for doing it with genuine parts then take quote to Audi and they will price match it...

Why walk away from a competative quote using genuine parts, to have Audi price match the quote? If Audi Service was that which the owner required, how would high quality Independant garages stay in work? If Audi Service is worth having and also offers good value for money, why do they need to price match those who do pride themselves in offering such service?

Thanks guys.
I'm not so in love with Audi garages and I know they charge far too much.
Hence I'm looking for recommendations for a good Indy place not too far from me (London-Stevenage-Cambridge) I'll obviously get a quote at least.
I also didn't think Audi take this price match thing seriously.
Paul@unit9, your price is more than reasonable, but may just be a bit far from me.

Don't forget if you can get a quote from a local Indy, Audi will price match as long as you can provide quote in writing and genuine parts are used.

Thanks, good to see what prices I can get.

Yep, will get them to do that, otherwise I'm happy to go Indy.

Just be aware I've had no luck in getting my local Audi dealer to price match as they want a full itemised quote which most indies don't provide. Others have had more luck than me. Basically my local dealer told me they don't do it. Then Audi UK got involved and they changed their mind. It's all in here:

Thanks Scotty. I will phone Audi in the next couple of days to see what they say. Tbh, if they make it hard for me I'm just going to go Indy. Its just oil and filters change. Indy's can reset the service trip computer as well.
I don't have a great amount of time to get detailed quotes.
Having a read of your thread now......

I booked mine in the dealership, then as I dropped the keys off I showed the guy the email on my phone from the indy and asked him to match it..... which he did.

To be fair I don't disagree...the main dealers seem to not do price match unless you're willing to have a little argument with them or threaten to speak to Audi UK at which point it miraculously becomes available!!

Is that not what I said in first reply?lol

Yes you did. Cheers for that.

A few of you have now mentioned this price match thing, which is what I will try to do with Audi.

Bottom line is: I'm not paying the current Audi quoted prices, thats for sure.
