A4 Multitronic Compatibility

Hi people,
two questions to get things rolling.......
Firstly, my car was running absolutely fine, the gearbox never slipped, jerked, crunched etc. then I stopped to go in the shop, came out and there was no drive. The selector would move and the display showed I was going into D, R, P, S but there was no movement. I found no fault codes on my vag com. After it went into a garage, they changed the CVT oil and had the ECU removed and updated. Still, no drive.
SO.....
Would anyone have any ideas?
BUT......if not.....question 2.......
The gearbox in my car is LLA 8-speed multitronic, but they seem to be as rare as T-Rex love juice but i have managed to find a gearbox from the same engine code car. Would this fit?

There appear to many other gearbox codes with the same ratios as the box you have.

The 2.0 TDI and 2.7TDI seem to have the same ratios.
What the differences are between these different boxes I don't know, I would have thought a gearbox designed for a 2.0 TDI would be good in your car.
