I've been looking through the receipts the previous owner gave me with the car and I've come to the conclusion that A4's seem to go through suspension components, brakes etc at an alarming rate with the previous owners spending a fortune keeping the car in a road worthy condition.
Question is, am I better off going for pattern parts (where available) as and when something goes wrong?
Are some pattern parts better than others?
Have you had grease nipples fitted to parts to extend their mileage etc
What components should I strip and grease to prevent premature wear?
Any help greatly appreciated

You'll probably find the reason the previousowner spent so much is because they kept buying pattern parts. In my experience th epattern parts are at best very poor. I did a couple of sets of arms that were QH items and they only ever lasted a couple of months efore squeeking and sounding horrible. I now use Lemforder arms and the issue is so much better. HHave to confess to having creaks again now but to be fair I lowered the car on coilovers and due to the weather never got round to resetting the arms so that's my own stupid fault.
