A4 B8 key not working

My key has suddenly stopped opening the doors I have to use the blade

Still works fine to start the car

Tried changing the battery with no joy

Any advice ?

Looked on line can't find anything that works

Some guides say press unlock and lock while the keys inserted but this obvs isn't possible on the B8

I can even try to reprogram on vcds because I got burgled earlier in the week and the scrotes took my laptop

Perhaps the car battery is nearly flat & the car is in power management mode.
Once this happens many systems are switched off to save power

This happened to me, turned out I had the battery in wrong way

battery is fine and thanks scotty i have tried that but albeit for only half an hr ...

i have managed to source a local vcds so i will keep you updated.

just another point i had my car mapped last week and since i have had a cel

internal control module 5195 P0602 00 (39) programming error

this only occurred on start up cleared then would come back till next start up and only started occurring after the mapping session which tbh was a failure as my car broke the dyno

it is more than likely the mapping that has caused this fault and because i got my laptop stolen i am unable to clear the code which maybe why after a few starts my key has stopped working with the doors

as above i may know more when i get hold of vcds
