Hi guys
I have a 2000 X reg with 248k by one owner.
The drivers bolster has some wear and I'm tempted to just get it repaired at my local car upholsterer (probably around £40-50 if previous jobs they have done for me are anything to go by)
However, I'm wondering what Recaro seat was offered as an option on this model (eg was it a Recaro N from that period, or something g a bit more like in the RS4?
If anyone could advise and / or direct me to some images, I would be grateful
Many thanks in advance
Andy

They were the same Recaros used in the B5 RS4, but done in TQS half leather with the blue centres.

Thanks for that Aragorn, much appreciated.
I had hoped they would be something similar to the basic ones fitted in Sierra Cosworths etc but I have the horrible feeling that a set of these would cost more than my car is worth..unless you have any suggestions???

Gulp!
The car cost me £400 which puts things in perspective a little then!
I honk I'll stick with refurbishing the wheels (but without the polished rim) and recovering the drivers bolster.
Thanks agin, really appreciate your help (and I'll keep my eyes out for a set, just in case)

Short of paying silly-daft money my preference would be to get a pair from an RS Turbo and have them recovered with the fabric from the QS

I imagine RS Turbo or Cosworth recaros arent particularly cheap at this point either... Cant be many of them left on the road.

There are leather front recaro seats from mondeo st200 for £115 on ebay. IMO the escort ones look ancient.

Yeah. His interior is awesome. Just those seats are around £2k :)

never been a lover of red leather. I had full black leather in my old 325i sport years ago then I bought a set of highback recaro's which were done half leather so got a rear seat done to match. I must admit I preferred that over the full leather.

To be fair, Escort Turbo seats were my seats of choice as they are readily available and as I would use the fabric from the existing seats and discard that on the Recaros, it wouldn't be too expensive. Oh and possibly re-use some of the leather too.
My concern was that they would look out of place (which they would to officienados) but would be comfortable.

Had a set of these in my Citroen xsara before getting the B5,they're from a rover 820 vitesse,I'm sorry I sold them now because I think they would suit the A4 really well

I think they would suit the A4 nicely..
Depending on what my brother does with his vitesse I may be able to get another pair in perfect condition,I'd rather he didn't break it but if he does.......

Does anyone know if the TQS with optional Recaros ever came with an armrest as well?

Mine has both but not sure if the armrest was factory fitted. It has the option code for the Recaro seats but I don't know if there is an option code for the armrest.
