Not very good quality I'm afraid due to car being in the garage and pics taken with phone.

Already got a few niggles with the car unfortunately. Found a small ding in the front bumper on Friday and thought a stone must have done it, thankfully it is in the pics i took at the dealer so they are going to sort that (the salesman who is also a mate is on holiday for a couple of weeks so it will be done when he gets back)
There is a rattle coming from somewhere on the passenger side, which I think is coming from under the seat as it can't be heard when my wife is in the car with me. There is a tear in the plastic lower seatbelt guard, and a small scratch on the chrome rim of the steering wheel.

Hopefully all of these will be sorted by the dealer at the same time.

Yeah, was one of the reasons I stumped up for SatNav in the end. Just felt it looked a bit fuller.

Yes you will have needed to spec Sat Nav.

Sorry to hear you have problems Inked, touch wood mine's been not too bad. I've got a rattle in the drivers door which is annoying and some stone chips already but with the UK roads that's inevitable.

I'm up country for a couple of days to Derby next week so if any of you are local to that and would like some VCDS tweaks done let me know and I'll take my cable.

I've gotta admit that I've been a hater of the Piano Black for years. I always found in any car that had it that it suffered from scratching etc etc very easily.

However on my B8 I have a little of it (as all satnav owners do) around the MMI controls and this has lasted bested than expected. Not sure if they've toughened it up or if ours is just lasting well.

I'm still not a fan of it though as it just looks like plastic.

One of the reasons I cancelled my BE order to be honest Scotty, that and the wheels.

My S3 was a BE and when I placed the order the wheels were the anthracite RS4 style and the inlays could be specc'd as Aluminium at no cost - Both of which changed in the 11MY.

I just can't make my mind up on those wheels, one minute I see them on a car and think awesome, really like them. Others I'm not so keen.

I've also got my first nasty stone chip, only 650 miles on the clock!

Still, after a bout of cherry glaze and two coats of carnuba wax this morning its looking good!

I also am not sue about the gloss black trim, it gets very dusty and grimy quite quickly. I rubbed a greasy mark lightly with my finger yesterday and have caused swirls already in the finish!! Saying that, my last BMW exterior paintwork was worse!!!

I've no faults as such, yet, however, if I blip the throttle when starting it up I get a really loud series if burble's and almost like a loud backfire noise emit from the exhausts!!?? it made everyone look outside tesco's earlier

Is that normal?

What's the grill thing to the left of the gearlever? Don't get mine til end of the week and it's keyless so there's a button there anyway.

Yeah, it's to turn it off. Quite happy with the way stop start works, so have left it on.

There’s been a few posts in between but just to say thanks for the internal shots – very prompt, so much appreciated.

I spec'd the BE to get the segmented alloys and the other toys, I’ve always disliked the piano black trim. The piece around the centre console / gear stick offends me most.
No offence intended, just my opinion!

The dealer said it was not an option to change it on the BE unless I spec’d the exclusive inlay trim
(I would’ve spent the £810 but wasn’t keen on the exclusive range either!)

I made some enquires with the dealer to change to trim (code 8K0 863 305) when I eventually
get the car.
I found a B8 silver inlay set on fleabay but it looks like a right ball-ache to changed the trim around the centre console / gear stick.
So i guess I’ll just have wait to see if I can live with it!


Oh and I agree, who would want to keep coins there when driving around!

Keef I don't think you'd have too much issue in changing the inlays, I probably have the necessary info you need - PM me an email addy mate.

There is likely a resale value in the black stuff too as people tend to like it.

Ive nearly forgot myself! 2.0 tdi BE Phantom black, tech pack high, sunroof, quattro, seat heat and of course the interior light pack!

Looks like the build takes 2 weeks from build date and then a week to your door.

Its normally a month, one week build and three to ship
But I know some have been quicker than that lately!
My build is week 27 (still not confirmed)
And I'm hoping it'll turn up before august otherwise
I'm waiting till september!

Meant to say, collected the car 9am Saturday morning, covered 350 miles by Sunday night. Love the s-tronic box. Amazed at how quickly tailgaters become small dots in the rear view mirror!!!!!

Went to dealer yesterday to sign paperwork etc and turns out my photocard driving licence expired on tuesday and I didn't have paper copy with me. Dealer said that's ok as long as I scan the paper copy and the new photocard application when I get home. Turns out I have lost my paper copy too! What a nightmare, might be up to two week delay for collection due to this **** up. I'm so ****** of with myself for loosing it. Need to wait till monday for the dealer to speak with finance people to try and work some magic.
I was booked to collect on Tuesday and my car was delivered to show room yesterday.

My photocard expires in two weeks and I was bricking it a bit however I read the renewal form again and you can apply online (which I did this afternoon) and it should speed things up - Albeit not as quickly as you'd like.

Awh mate – I feel your pain!
Many moons ago I left it till the morning of picking up my new car to sort out the log book for my old trade-in.
Tore the house apart but couldn’t find it, managed to get a replacement from DVLA but it took two weeks.
Dealer wouldn’t let me have the car in the meantime!

….I’ve just checked my licence, but pretty sure I’ve already signed all the finance paper work months ago.

Have you had loan cars from you dealers before? Not sure if they keep copies of your paper licence??
Hope they can sort something out for you – think of it as a setback (an F-in annoying one!)
