A4 Avant 2000 Estate rear speakers not working

Hi Symphony 1 system rear speakers in doors not working, front sp ok ,can you help me with fault finding , where to look for looms, and any testing i should do . many thanks

rear speakers are driven by an amplifier hidden in the left hand rear carpeting of the boot.

I guess thats the first place to start!

I had the same on my B6. Open the cover in the boot and check the connectors. I gave mine a blast with some switch cleaner and that sorted it.

Have you changed the head unit

As above the factory deck only has 2 speaker level outputs (front). If you don't use a suitable adapter loom with an aftermarket radio the rears won't work.

He says "Symphony 1" which is the oem double din system IIRC
