a4 2.5tdi quattro start ok just not reving

hi all been away for this site for a long time now haveing problem now has been of the road for some months now but kept the battery fully charge now and started up every week over the winter
and rev it up now start but does not rev up any body now what the problem can be unable to do vag.com as my old laptop with the serial port is dead now can anybody help with information about the this problem cheers
