anyone able to tell me a dealer price for ECM Realy or also known as Fan relay number 219.

219 VW AUDI RELAY 219 899574000 443951253AA

or anywhere that can supply it cheaper than dealer.

any help appreciated

My copy of ETKA usually gives ballpark figures and it says £20.53 based on that I would say somewhere between £23 and £25.

Or a breakers if you can find one left in the car as this fails quite often. I actually have one off my old Passat but I changed it out as I think the one switched contact for the fuel pump is a bit iffy.
Fitted to most A4 ,A6 , Passats from 95-05.

Yeh see the ones on ebay too. Will give audi a phone tomorrow..

Been having a starting problem. Car failed to start on Thursday after sitting for 8 hours. Would crank but not start. I left it till sat morning and it started straight away.

Drove it for an hour. Parked for 2 hours and it did the same. Left it for 15 mins and started 1st time.

Drove it home left it overnight and it did the same this morning. left it 10 mins and it started

VCDS logs show unable to connect to ECM once I've got it running.

When it fails to start I can't read the engine module with VCDS. Cam it only read when the engines running?

You should be able to read it with the ignition on, you don't need to have the engine running. It could be down to that relay as this provides power to the ECU.
